Lidia Mecomb hadn’t seen Amos fall, but now stood 
over the old gentleman who appeared to be searching for 
 something in the grass. “Lose Something?” Amos turned 
over on an elbow and  turned an eye up at the silhouette of a 
young woman that seemed to float above in the trees 
 and morning sky.  He probably had lost 
 something, but it was all coming back to him now.
